This site will document how I get on trying to grow some vegetables in a small London garden. I started it back in January when things didn’t look too promising since there was still snow on the ground on New Year’s day and temperatures have hardly got above freezing for about a week. However, now it’s April and even though it’s still been pretty cold for this time of year the signs of spring are starting to show.
Over the Easter weekend we started on the vegetable patch in earnest, digging over all the soil again to work in the nitrogen fixing plants that we seeded back in November. Then we planted onions, potatoes, jerusalem artichokes and rhubarb in neat little rows alongside the garlic that went in the ground before Christmas.
